From zero to a first website: inside Module 1
Published on 29 September 2026
What a lesson looks like, how the automatic checks help, and the personal website every student ships at the end of the first module.
Module 1 of the Builder track has one goal: by the end, your child has built and shipped a real personal website. No experience needed.
One idea per lesson
Each lesson starts with a short video and a clear explanation. Then come the "try it" steps: small tasks in a code editor that runs right in the browser. The very first one asks your child to write a heading:
<h1>Hello, world!</h1>
As soon as they type it, the step is checked automatically. If something is missing, a hint in their own language points them in the right direction, without giving the answer away.
Building up, step by step
Over the module, each lesson adds one new idea:
- Headings, paragraphs and lists
- Links and images
- Colours and fonts with CSS
- Boxes, spacing and layout
- Pages that look good on phones
- A first button that does something, with JavaScript
Shipping the project
The module ends with a project: your child plans, builds and ships their own personal page to their portfolio. The portfolio is private, and with Premium you can share it with family through a link.
